Default Unhappy w/Mustang Seat

After much anticipation I got my Mustang Vintage Wide solo seat this week, I disappointed. The seat is so wide it even looks funny on a bike as big as the Deluxe, the width makes it more difficult when stopped (I can still flat foot easily but...). Mustang clains the seat moves you up 2" and forward 2", I felt it moved me up more than 2", I didnt like because I felt like I was sitting above the bike not in it and it put my line of site diretly at the top edge of my windshield. I dont feel like the seat moved me up at all. To be fair the seat itself felt good (slope and flatness of the bottom) and my legs felt less cramped on the bike but it made the rest of the bike uncomfortable to me.

Between the extreme width and the increased height it threw the handling off, probably because Im so used to it the way it was stock. But I dont remember feeling like that on the Fatboy or Heritage I test rode before buying the Deluxe which both sat higher than the Deluxe. I have sat on other bikes with Mustang seats and they felt comfortable. This is the exact opposite of what I expected. Well I guess its time to send off my stock seat to get reworked.

So who is better Mean City Cycles mods with either memory foam or double memory foam or Americana and their gel mod?

Perhaps you should go to a Mustang sport solo. It isn't as wide and doesn't have the side issue problems you are encountering. The folks at Mustang are good people to work with. Did you talk to them on the phone about your issues?

As far as the seat they will return it within 10 days or replace it with another model... Try the Vintage Solo not as wide

Garrettt, I might take you up on that, PM me with an offer.

I bought my seat form a 3rd party delaer and not direct from Mustang so I doubt I can return it. I did post before asking baout seats and based on good reviews bought the Mustang, but I feel better on the stock overall (I do get more antsy and my tailbone gets numb-ish but overall much better). So I think now Ill just get my stock seat reworked after I decide between memory foam and gel insert. The thing I HATED the most about the seat was how high I "felt" in it. It was like a was sitting on a scafold suspended above the bike. Im now afraid to look at other mfg's seats...

Have you considered calling Mustang and chatting with them about options? They are known for good customer service.
