Default Don't buy a Heritage Classic until you read this!

Long time softail rider and just purchased a Heritage Classic. It seems to me Harley is either about to cancel this model or just don't care about the people who purchase them.

If you do light touring, the luggage rack for this bike has been on back order for over 1 year. At some point recently, Harley completely removed the part from their website, likely because several reviewers were warning people not to purchase the bike if you wanted to do some touring. I emailed HD and no response, if my dealer knows what's going on, they aren't saying. Step through customizing as if you were to purchase a new Heritage Classic and I guarantee 50% of the custom parts are on back order.

Again, please be cautious if you are interested in this bike for any type of touring or accessories customization.

You aren't going to scare anyone here away from buying a new bike, LOL! That luggage rack is tiny and useless anyway. There are alternatives to HD branded parts.

Great First Post. If I'm not mistaken Harley makes an entire line called Touring bikes.
Anyone can go anywhere on most any bike, that doesn't mean it the best choice. I've never thought about trying enduro with my Ultra, but then again I understand the suspension wasn't made for that and perhaps a litttle weight issue. Think I'll contact Harley and ask what they plan to do about that.

Correct I did, and I'll be posting everywhere I can if it helps just one person make a more informed decision, because I can tell you Harley and the dealers aren't pointing this out at the sales desk and in this case deceptively removed the part from their website because a lot of people were posting the same issue.

As someone who has had Heritage Softails since the early 2000s, which I loved and wouldn't consider a different Harley or motorcycle for that matter, this latest batch of Heritage Classic models 2018-present and Harley's commitment to that line are a bit disappointing.

You’ll find more crybabies in Facebook groups who will be sympathetic to your cause than you will here. Go be with your people.

OP did you do your due diligence in buying your new bike?

Hopefully you financed it at a high interest rate so we can hear you complain about that next.

It is on you, look in the mirror and quit crying over your spilled milk.

No one cares.

Shrug, I didn't like the Harley rack anyhow.
I went and bought an aftermarket one, then put a nice cutting board on it. KLR owners have nothing on me!

Harley has been dropping things off the accessories page for all kinds of bikes of late. But you can still find much of it in the aftermarket world.
