18 inch wheels on Fatboys, Heritage, etc.
I have seen some bikes on here that have 18 inch wheels on the front and I really like the look. So when I buy some new wheels, I would like to do this. Question is, does the 18 inch wheel fit without modification to the fender, etc.? Did you change the rear wheel to the 18 or leave it at 16 inches?
thanks

They bolt on without modification to the fender, they end up being real close to the same diameter as stock. You are really only losing sidewall. You only need to modify the fender if you go to a wider rear tire.
You can go up to about 180 widthin the rear but you will need to mill the brake and cut the strut bolts down so they do not contact the sidewall when the suspension is compressed. Call Hogpro and they will tell you what you need. I love the 18's because they make the bike look lowered when it is at stock height. You will only be able to run Metzlers or Avons,no other manufacturers make a good 18" rear tire.

I love mine, check the metzler website and you can check the dia. of the tire combinations.
When I did mine my rear stayed the same dia as my 17" because I went with a 50 series instead of the stock 55. The rear of the bike was already lowered about 1.5" so when I sized my front the 130x18 came in at 1.25 inch lower overall so my geometry stayed relatively the same.
go figure
