I was about to order a LePera Bare Bones today, but you guys have me worried now... Are they that uncomfortable?

Yes.
They don't get the "bare bones" look from using a pad, and I had the Sillhouette, which has more padding than the BB.
My LePera was fine around town. It looked great, but it was the worst after an hour or so.
I have re-discovered pain free riding with the Mustang.

After all these years I have yet to find a better built and a more
comfortable riding seat than a Mustang.

Of course there’s other things to consider.
Looks and riding position also plays a big part in the selection.

As of late I’ve gone for more looks over comfort.
I like to pull over from time to time no matter what seat I have on.

Sample of a Mustang and HD:

Notice the HD will sit you lower due to the narrow front.

I've got a LePera Bare Bones too. Love it for showin' off around town. Would never consider it for any real distance though. Had my stock seat re-worked by Mean City Cycles for the long stuff.

Happy with the Mustang Vintage solo with backrest. Little cheaper than Corbin, backrest removable and moved me up a half inch.

I've been tossing around the idea of getting a solo so I'm not tempted to give rides until my skill level improves. Also looking for something that moves me forward, and down as I'm a short legged guy. I know this is about the aftermarket, but any thoughts on stock solo's? I saw mention above, or having the stock seat re-worked. Sorry I know I'm hijacking, but figured I'd ask in a related topic instead of starting another solo seat thread. I'm a newb if you haven't noticed.

Opinions on seats are so broad and subjective its hard to tell anything. I read other peoples great reviews on the Saddlemen solo and liked the way it looked on other bikes. I hated mine and it has gone back to Saddlemen.

Many say the stock Badlander seat is a torture rack but I can ride all day on mine. I just want to try the solo look.

I've got a LePera silhouette on order. Trial and error...

If you decide to re-work, here's the link: http://www.meancitycycles.com/
Nice work and quick turn-around. You ship them your seat, they do whatever you want to it (move you forward or back, up or down) and ship it back to you.
