I can't comment if removal and re-install one at a time would cause a leak.

Yet if I did remove, I would replace them with new.
Plus, again just guessing to mitigate any leaks, if removed, do that removal on a cold engine.
A torque wrench may be essential for reinstallation.

Otherwise, as mentioned above, make a protective template, clean as good as possible, add some clear coating or silver paint, and/or perhaps buy chrome covers.
