Default 1987 fxst softail rear shocks

I need some help. I have an 87 fxst softail. This model has 2 oil shock absorbers( about 12 inches long extended, and the body is 3 inches wide) with the remote piggy back reservoirs mounted to the swing arm axle. The swing arm only has about 2 1/2 inches of swing/stroke, if you will, at the shock mounting points. I know factory replacements don't exist and they are non serviceable. I would like recommendations to aftermarket adjustable options for the shocks. Please help if you have experience with this rare suspension setup.

Your bike is in a dead zone for rear shock replacement. There seems to be very few options for the early Softails.

V-Factor used to make twin, thin bodied shocks that supposedly fit early softails. However, if you find a site that still lists them, it'll say "unavailable"..

I just happen to find these while doing some searching.

I know nothing about the vendor, the shock manufacturer, or the shock install/performance... I only know they claim they fit your bike, they look alot like the old V-Factor shocks that fit your bike, and they are in stock... might be worth giving them a call..

Actually, I’m pretty sure JERRY cycle has them. I’m using voice dictation, but believe me I wouldn’t know how to accurately spelled JERRY cycle anyway.

about three or four months back I bought a set of chrome, small body diameter, shocks for my 93 and sent them back. So they had them in stock three months ago.
