I think I'd avoid them unless there's something about them that is desirable to you. Given the trade in values above, spending $1500 on each of them to be left with $2500-4000 tops worth of motorcycle isn't something I'd do unless I liked them. And in my case, I don't particularly care for Softails anyway, so unless they were free or very cheap, I would probably just pass.

Do not use a jump pack to try and start them . Charge the battery if you can. Jump packs can cause damage to them.

Bid a $1,000 each at auction. If they go for more let them go. At a $1,000 each if it goes bad you can part them out make most of it back in time.

It's just a battery.

If you cannot see and hear the bike run, you have no idea what the engine is like inside - trashed, rod knock, bad valves/cam/clutch etc. Any of these items may render the the cost above what the bike is worth.

Also the items I listed are bargaining tools for the astute among us who know what we are doing.

If you want to gain some knowledge and become astute in these matters, suggest you take a read of the attachment I provided in my post above.

It should be a good read while you sit around deer camp, cook the food, tend the fire, and keep the place clean for the men who are out hunting.
read your long winded write up and learn something? Cripes sake you list $10 spark plugs. Oil change? You do that to any bike you ride.

Those bikes didn't come with hydraulic clutches either.

If you could read, you would know the heritage has Delphi.

Go shoot a senior citizen.

I've been wrenching on bikes for years.

Where did the auction come from?

The other thing is, are you trying to make money or new bike to ride? If you want to ride, as I have said, many things are just maintenance items for any bike you own. You put new tires on, you got new tires to ride until you need another set of new tires. Flipping it, and they hold air, and are not cracked, I would sell, and just tell them they are old. Many people ride old tires that hold air and are not weathered. Many people won't.

The bike I am getting ready to sell, I am just going to tell them the tires are old. Not going to get the money out of new tires in the sale.

You should get it on tape. I think it is beyond your reading ability. I took a class actually.
