does anyone have the softail diagnostic manual (part no. 99498- 02 ) that they could send me?
I live in Canada and the dealers here don't stock it any more. Its the page that tells you how to turn your bank angle sensor to sidecar mode.

Here are the tables you are looking for.... They are from the 2002 Softail Factory Electrical Diagnostic Manual #99498-02.


This is table 3-1 for configuring the TSM/TSSM for a side car:

Thanks for sending me these papers. But I have a question, after I printed them off and compared them they are the same for sidecar and solo. Does this mean I dont have to do any thing or what? It also says to go to the section under 3.3 TSM/TSSM vehicle delivery regarding battery disconnect Do I need this section or what?

 

I have had good luck with older bikes on ebay. Gotten manuals shipped for under $50, in US. I went throughy last year and got all 3 for my bikes.

I was just going to send you a PM, but I will answer it here in case someone else needs the info and gets confused...

The tables ARE NOT the exact same.... look at confirmation sections in steps 6 and 7. They are reversed between both tables...

I'm guessing that the procedure apparently toggles the TSM/TSSM back & forth between "side car" mode and "solo" mode... the confirmation sections for steps 6 and steps 7, will let you know if you just went from "solo" to "side car"... or "side car" to "solo"...

Does that make sense..?


For the heck of it, I looked up the same tables in my 2003 Softail Electrical Diagnostic manual and they are much different... so apparently the procedure changed for the 2003 models...

 

You don't have a postal system? Ebay is not the one shipping it to you. I have never shipped out of the country, But it is the seller shipping it to you, you tell him how and where.

I am just saying you can find these manual cheap, because people have sold the bikes and they are good to have. Parts manual too. Shippiong to canada will add cost too. But I have gotten stuff shipped from Canada with free shipping.
