Can I jump start my Harley with my truck?

If you have to jumpstart it, leave it connected for a few minutes to get some charge into the bike battery. Don't start the truck! Newer Dodges have 75 - 100 amp alternators, a bit more than the HD system can deal with. No 2 regulators are exactly alike and they will fight until you disconnect the jumper cables.

I started my Hayabusa off my 600amp Toyota Landcruiser so I don't see why not if they are both 12v. Probably not advisable but it worked.

'06 Deuce... Left the switch on. I tried to hook it up to my battery without turning the truck on. This seemed to help a little, but it didn't give it enough juice to turn over. Can I turn the truck on ('05 Dodge Ram) to expedite the process or will it fry something?
Thanks!

RE: Can I jump start my Harley with my truck?
Speaking of starting bikes, in the earley 60s, a kid older than me had a 650 Triumph, he couldn't get it to start, so, he offered my buddie and i 25 cents each to push him, we did, still no go. So, he upped it to 50 cents, we pushed our guts out, the bike fired , he took off, my buddie let go, I couldn't , so, i went for a quick/fast ride for almost a block hanging on to the luggage rack on the back. NO he never paid us, and, next time i see him, i'll remind him, lol

You must be careful with power spikes when you have an fuel injection ecm fitted - a good set of jumper leads with surge protection - connect the + to the bike battery and the - to a good earth source on the bike (pref. where the Neg cable grounds onto the frame)
If you observe 12 volts to 12 volts you will be ok
Disconnect the + lead from the battery and just connect all jump leads and start the the truck/car and gently increase the engine revs then start the bike. reconnect all battery cables on bike then Disconnect Neg - connector when bike starts.
By connecting the jump source directly to both terminals of the battery you are just allowing the dead or low battery to soak up the power.

A friend I know has a set of custom made jumper cables, they were made with like a high grade stereo speaker wire (he is a electronic nerd). They have smaller clips for the Bike and wont over load the system. They are small and flexable, but long to conect to another vehicle. He keeps them in a small bag just in case. Really neat set up. I am amazed they are not marketed.

Yes, as long as it is a 12V system. The toughest part is getting those big clamp ends on the batt. I have adapters I use on my lawnmower etc. follow the same safety ruled you would when jump starting a car. In most cases there will be no need for the doner vehicle to be running.. Leave the clamps hooked up for a few min. even after the bike starts.
