I'm not sure why you want a six speed tranny, but before you fork out the big bucks...

I bought an 07' last year with six speed tranny. I thought to myself, how cool. The fact is that I never use it. Unless you live in a state where speed limits don't matter, you may never use it or very rarely. I have to be doing at least between 70 and 75 mph for it not to lag and that's probably closer to 75 end.

So is it really worth it, I ask?

I would also mention, the six speed works better with an engine that develops torq. otherwise in 6 you will still be down shifting to 4 to pass.

I had a revtech 6-speed gearset installed in my 01 Fatboy this year.I've put almost 3000 miles on it and it's been trouble free. I do alot of highway riding and it's been great.I don't shift into 6th until I hit 65mph and it drops the rpms but not too low.

I own a 2000 Fatboy. I changed the tranny pulley from 32T (stock) to 34T. I don't feel like shifting from 4th to 5th until I hit around 65 Mph. With the sock 32T, I felt like at 65 Mph I needed to shift, but damn...no more gears as I was already in 5th. The 34T solved that and it was a heck of a lot cheaper than a 6-speed gear set (or tranny) with an Over Drive.

Not sure what you bike has for gearing. But playing with your sprockets can also work to achieve what you want.
