The 2007 FLSTF had the front wheel offset to the right, is this a safty issue?
safety issue???? hardly...it was a major screw up by Harley Davidson in my opinion

I ride the 2007 fatboy. There is NO issue with the frame. the offset is there to fix the 200mm issue. what the did was to space out the engine and move the rar wheel just a fraction to the port side thus eliminating the front offset. Being a bike mechanic I recently installed a 250mm on a fatboy when I tired to center the rar end I saw that the front was out of be a fraction. Then when I used a laser guide i had to cut new spacers to center the front. the reason was so due to the supplied primary offset which I was supplied. The supplier (zodiac) told me that the spacers where uniform to fit all softail frames with the 200mm tyre. So what the have actually done this year is move the engine and cut new rear spacers.

The frame is the same. Imagine this..... out of all the models with the 200mm tyre ONLY the fat boy needs an offset.

I did not know of this issue. But I noticed a RockerCat a dealer the other day that had front fender offset.
There was a definite difference in clearance between forks and fender. Maybe just isolated case.
I was looking from angle on right rear side. Never got around front to fully check this out.

Wow, some you guys have alot of tech knowledge in here. Im not trying to steal a thread but after reading this Ive got a question. Ive got an 07 Night Train and Im wanting to put a stock 17" front wheel from an 07 Fat Boy on there. Is the offset mentioned here just in the spacers or is the hub different? Ive also called two different dealers and asked the question here in this forum before, what is the difference between and 07 & 08 Fat Boy front wheel? Both dealerships just said it wont fit but couldnt provide an explanation why, is it due to this offset? Thanks
