Appreciate the answers on how to clean it. My question was how to solve it. As far as I can tell, with the Heritage Classic you have to not only get passenger floorboards, but also saddlebag relocation kit. Anybody found a better solution.
The only way to keep shoe rubber from sticking is to not let it touch.. I know.. yeah thanks that's a big help.. but what I mean is, either the peg has to change (either longer pegs or floorboards as mentioned) or the exhaust has to change.. To some pipes that don't come so close in proximity. Neither are a quick free fix though. Sorry.. UNLESS, you could look into some aftermarket pegs that have some kind of guard maybe.. Kuryakin comes to mind.

It is a problem, I know.[:'(] I used an acetone solvent and it woked like a charm. My son melted his sneaker near the right side floorboard, I know.......I've got passenger froorboards and it still managed to happen even after I asked him to be verrrrry carrrrfullll with his sneaker. I think the best fix will be the chrome foot guard trim that fits on the floorboards.

Tyler,

I put the Chrome Softail® Passenger Footboard Kit (p/n 52715-04) on my Heritage and if you go this route you will have to get the bag relocation bracket. I think it is another $10 for 2 black angled brackets. The biggest hit was the $400 footboards. Even after this mod the wife still manages to occasionally touch the pipes. I guess it is something to live with...

OBTW, the wife loves the flip-down footboards.
