Default Wind noise or what?

Ok, I'm new to the forum, but not new to Harley. I just purchased a new 2007 Softail Custom. I added a short windshield from the HD catalog, and I seem to get a squealing noise once I hit about 60-62 MPH. I never had this with my Wide Glide, which had an almost identical windsheild. When I take the shiled off, I no longer hear the noise, but I'm not sure if it is because I am now just hearing the wind???? I still have the stock mufflers on the FXSTC (I have a set of Rush mufflers on order), where I had a set of Pythons on the Glide. So, the new bike is much quieter than I was used to.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

Most likely the windscreen. It only takes fractions of an inch or a rough edge to create whistling sounds. Take a look at many of the antenna on newer cars with the little swirls all around, all the eliminat whistling.
