Default Plastic under seat get rid of or keep?

I want to get a LaPera bare bones solo seat but i know there is gonna be a time when i want to take a passenger and my question is do i leave that plastic that protects the paint on the fender there or does the lapera passenger extension have something on it to protect the paint?

i found a fender one ebay for this reason

i bought my bike used and the previous must have removed the plastic
the 2 up seat chewed the **** out of the fender
so when i ride 2 up i use that fender

then i have my mint looking fender for when i throw the solo seat on

not the easiest thing in the world but it works

I pulled mine off, I go from a solo to a 2-up seatall the time. I glued some heavey felt under the 2-up seat to protect the paint.. no problems so far.

Leave it on. When solo, cover it with a Fender Bib, remove the bib, add the two-up seat, and go.

Here is my wife's deluxe, I simply bought a new protective sheet, cut it to the shape of the bib, and installed it. Easy, quick, and the new sheet is about 12.00
