Default Seat Identification

Hello, recently purchased my first bike, 2006 Deuce. I was hoping someone could tell me what kind of seat this is. It is for sale, but the owner doesn't know. There are no brand or part numbers on the seat. They bought it for their softail but it doesn't fit. Trying to figure out if this is a better seat than the oem. Thanks

It could be anything. Recovered, re-shaped.

It looks like a genuine HD seat with the logo embossed into the leather...but that doesn't prove anything.

It could be a Chinese knock-off

It looks a lot like a Danny Gray Short Hop 2-Up.

Good luck.

No idea, but I would make sure it fits 100% prior to purchasing it.

It could've been a reupholster job, only place I've seen do full carpet to the bottom like that is C&C and Saddlemen.

Interesting seat....

All the HD seats I've seen use a plastic, exposed seat pan, never saw carpeting on an HD seat...

There are a few aftermarket seat makers that carpet the bottom of the seat... I have a LePera that is built like that, with a metal seat pan. However, I doubt HD would give permission to an aftermarket competitor to use the HD logo, and an aftermarket competitor wouldn't risk the legal ramifications on a production seat....

I'm going to guess it's some kind of custom seat, or reworked HD seat...

It didn't fit the seller's softail, and he doesn't know what the seat is, or what it's for... I would pass...

But even if you feel you HAVE to have it, I would make sure to have it in hand, fit it to your bike, and test how it feels on your bike before buying it.... If it's a long distance sale that would require shipping, and the seller agrees to let you return it, that can be expensive just to test fit a seat... you should probably pass...

Good luck with your seat search...
