The harley cooler has a thermostat that opens at 220.....
How and where are you guys taking your temps? I have a Harley temp oil plug in mine... I have yet to see it over 220 without the cooler... Although i like the idea of a cooler... you never know if you will get in stop and go traffic... The 07 models will shut off the rear cylinder if they get too hot, but only at idle... anyone had this happen?

RE: Oil Cooler
Have an 07 Deuce here and riding stop light to stop light in 90+ weather (not this week 104, yikes) and I've not heard the cylinder cut out yet. I also read somewhere that the first thing the 07's do is lower the idle at a certain temp, but I've not had that happen yet either.

Where did you get that info?
The harley cooler has a thermostat that opens at 220.....
FYI Well, you're wrong about the thermostat opening at 220..
Premium Oil Cooler Kit
This cooler was designed specifically for Harley-Davidson® to out-perform all other coolers in the industry. This cooler features a unique "Turbulator" system that evenly distributes oil across the cooling chambers. The air fins are designed to efficiently dissipate heat. This popular Touring oil cooler has been re-designed to simplify installation and enhance performance. The larger heat exchanger provides additional cooling efficiency. Kit features an adapter plate with integrated thermostat that allows oil lines to connect to the oil filter bracket. The thermostat activates at 185°F (85°C). Kit comes complete with mounting hardware and precut oil lines. Kit includes Chrome Oil Cooler Cover.
Just sharing facts....

RE: Oil Cooler
I also have been contemplating an oil cooler - however I want performance with it not looking gawdy.
I know many of you have installed the Harley Davidson Premium Kit:
However I have seen others such as this Billetcool one where the oil filter mounts on the outside of this one:
and then there is this Harley Davidson One that fits over the oil filter:
Then the Jagg one mounts on the outside of the frame (not pictured)
SO which one would look good.....
That is the bazillion dollar question.
