Hi guys I`m looking for some small plain saddle bags for my 07 softail custom. Does anyone have or are using some bags that they would recommend? I would be nice to have room for a few things like a drink, food, and a shirt on longer rides.

I've been researching saddlebags for some time now, finally went to where I get my leathers (jacket, chaps, etc.) and was BLOWN AWAY by their quality compared to what's available online!! Just Leather in San Jose has by far the best quality I've seen yet. The leather seems to be 3-4 times thicker than what's online and they custom build them to your liking.

I definitely HIGHLY recommend them!

These bags I have on my Standard are made for softails. I used to have the seat from the Custom on my bike..see pic...so the bags worked well. Only thing is,,you need spacers to install the bags due to the width of the Custom seat.

I got a set of 90119-00C HD bags on ebay for a good price. They work very well and are very handy for taking some stuff when on a trip or just running around.

If you get a set of bags that requires mounting kit 90573-07 check out my post at https://www.hdforums.com/m_1946493/tm.htm . You can save the headache of trying to find a dealer with the kit in stock and about $30.

 

I have the Fatboy bags on my '05 Standard. They bolted right to the fender struts so they took about 10 minutes to install.

I can't pass up a saddle bag question with out saying Ironbags.com, the last bag you will ever have to buy, they do come with hardware to make them detachable if you want and you can get them very plain if you want !!

check out www.ironbags.com they made mine you can see them in my gallery. they are super thick leather and they make all kinds of styles and have options for you to chose from. by far the best leather bags i've seen.
