Default Cam Tension

I have a 2016 Fat Boy with a 103B. I'm a bit confused after reading all the posting; do I don't I have to worry about replacement? Are they the plastic in my engine or the hydraulic?

They’re both plastic and hydraulic. No need to worry, check them @40,000 miles.

Your's have a roller chain. Just like primary. Once the the outer links groove in, the rollers roll on tensioners. Wear ceases.

The delrin shoes can and do harden from hot oil. On yours, probably ought to look at them at 100,000 or 10 years.
Up North, they will last forever. You don't mention your location.

The older ones pre 2007 or so had a link chain. They never stopped wearing. Also, shoe is very small.

Harley put the hydraulic system in to just hide their screw up and add smoking mirrors so they would not need to recall link chain ones.

Welcome from Hampton Roads Virginia, USA!

Just in case you have not done both of these two important items!

Be sure to add an Avatar of your favorite shot in the USER set up for the small picture others will see in the top left corner of your post with your USER name.

And most importantly a Signature Line in your USER set up for your bike model, year, and all the letters that Harley recognizes it with that others see at the bottom.

This enables others to know your exact model if you ever ask a question or another member interested in it may ask you a question about it.

Your all set.... Enjoy the ride! ______________
