Yeah, the maximum saddle time for me in my Badlander is about two hours. 
If I'm gonna be riding longer thana few hoursI switch to my other seat. I could ride forever on the H-D seat pictured below. The wife& I just put on about 500 miles in this saddle over a 72 hour mini vacation up in Lake George, NY.
I don't know the name or have the model number for the seat.
It was made for the Night Trains and as far as I know it was only availible in the 2004 catalog. One of these days I'll get all the info.
Good luck on the seat mods! It'll be interesting to see how it works out for ya.
