I'm looking for ideas and inspiration for my 99 fatboy. I love the look of these styles of bikes and would like to see what everybody else has done to get it done to there bikes. I am now installing a progressive 2" front lowering spring kit and calling them today to get the new shocks for the rear, I can't swing for a air ride kit right now. I do have some questions though on measuring my handlebars. I would like to get the gangster apes but want the same height that I have now so I don't have to order new cables. where do i place tape measure to get the right height and width? thanks for the help and look forward to seeing the rides.

I have a '12 Deluxe and have been going this route with it. I absolutely love it man. I have a thread where I show the build a little bit with a lot of details on the parts that I used. Carlini and most handlebar manufacturers have kits they'll sell you for the cables and stuff for the handlebars that you're getting. I'd recommend going that route, it's not overly difficult to swap those out.
Here's the thread

Thanks for the pix. I read through your post, really like what your doing. I just got my 2" drop springs in front now I have to order the rear lowering kit from progressive. As far as the bars, I have been trying to decide between the Carlini's and the Dominator meathooks. I did a mockup set of bars out of pvc and right now i have them set at roughly 16" my bars now I believe are around 13. Decisioms, decisions decisions!

I currently have the 422's RAP's on the rear and 2" drop on the front. So worth it but now I want the shotgun air ride system.

Did you install a different kickstand after putting the lowering kit on?
