Default Shop damaged my exhaust. How to repair?

Hi,

I brought my bike to a motorcycle shop to change the tires. They scratched the exhaust while they were removing the brake caliper. Idiots!!
Is there any chance that I get this repaired by myself?

1. Make the shop make good on it.
2. Replace it.
3. Send it out for replating.

Ahh crap!

I would have them pay for a new pipe or repair it and then never go back there again!

Did you point out the damage when you picked up the bike from the shop?
If you didn't, it is pretty hard to go back and and ask them to do something about it.
Also, I have seen some shops argue that damage was done before it came in to their shop.

I know it sounds stupid, but a person should be taking pictures of the bike at the repair facility
when it goes in and going over the bike for any damage before it leaves.

15 years ago I got fed up with paying people to scratch my bike. Change my own tires ever since.
