The build is underway. I’m having trouble finding one part. Does anyone know the part number for the Allen Style inspection cover? I assume it’s CCI and it’s long since been discontinued? Thanks again for you help everyone. I’ll start posting pics of the build this week.

Just wanted to send an update on the build. It’s been more work than I planned (bike was missing a lot of stock parts) but it has been fun sourcing parts. I just wanted to share a cool upgrade I did in case anyone else runs into this problem. My bike had the S&S Shorty E carb and I wanted to keep it but bring back the stock look (and CCI air cleaner insert). I used an S&S Stealth Air Cleaner kit with Evo breather bolts). This allowed me to bolt on a stock air cleaner cover. There’s another thread on this forum detailing the process. I’m happy with the results. Thought I’d share some pics. The CCI insert was a bitch to get my hands on but that’s another story, lol. Enjoy.

 

Nicely done...! I always liked that Stealth air cleaner. I had a leaky Mikuni on my bike and the cables were all wonky. I found some OEM stuff, and like you said, the search is kind of rewarding. It''s amazing what's out there. That bike looks real clean for a 92! The engine fins are bright and the black wrinkle looks great. Thanks for posting the pics...:-)

I cant even get out to the barn because there is so much snow here. I'm holding on to a cigar for when some melting happens, I like to have a smoke and a few shots of rum (neat) out there with the bikes once in a while. I will have to live vicariously through you until it warms up!...lol!

Just picked up these original Cycle Shack Slash Cut pipes new in the box. I’ll send pics when I get them on the bike.

 

Nice find...It is amazing what is still out there. I would invest some serious time talking to your painter. There were many variations in the paint over the years. From yellow, oranges, and later reds and even pinstriping around the flames.

 

 

Just another update from the build. The Cycle Shack pipes are on. I also have all the CCI Allen Style covers installed including the derby and inspection covers. The sissy bar, saddle bag brackets and 16 inch spoked rear wheel are also mounted. I’m still waiting on my seat to show up but it’s almost ready for paint.
