Default 2018-2020 Softail Street Bob with Shotgun Shock?

I was wondering if anyone has put a Shotgun Shock on their 18’-20’ FXBB, I’ve been contemplating on buying one for performance and well... looks. I’ll be taking my 20’ FXBB on a 2-3k mile trip in the Spring of 2021 from here in Arizona where I live to visit family in California (San Francisco & Mendocino) and then taking the coastline up and then back to AZ. I honestly don’t think I’ll be very comfortable with the stock mono on a trip that long and being able to adjust with a push of a button could be a “butt saver”. Plus it’d look badass when you dump the air and have it sit low. So it’ll serve a purpose and fill a giant void to make the bike a little more long trip worthy. I have a friend in Washington State who swears by the Shotgun on his older Softail and has highly recommend it to me. I just haven’t seen any newer FXBB’s with it and wanted to see what it looks like and how it performs.

Anyways, I’m new to the forum and I’m trying to get the hang of it so bear with me a little. Thanks! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

Not a big fan of air shocks on softails because if something goes wrong your stuck. I know that a few of the companies that sell have great warranties and get you the parts out quick but on a long ride like you are doing, sitting at a motel for 24 or 48 hours waiting on parts would suck. I have heard good things about the Progressive shocks on the new softails but honestly, both the myself and the wife like the new mono shock suspension on her new Standard and don't plan to change it anytime soon. That's saying a lot since she weighs about 125-130 and I am at 210.

I have a 2007 Softail and I thing the new mono shock Softails are day and night better than the old ones even with the stock shock.

I think if I was adding a air shock it would be the Legend.
Seems they have about the best reputation for quality & longevity.

I have air on my 2019 FXBB but not the shotgun, I got the Platinum Air Suspension , great value for the money and the compressor is nicely hidden in a black wrinkle alu box that bolds on the bike like it was from factory.
Also you better posted this question in the 2018+ Softail section for more respons.
