Default You guys tired of exhaust questions yet?

I have an 07 Patriot Edition Fatboy, I have a couple questions. I want to get slip-ons i'm looking to spend around $250. I need to know what kind to get, will they come with heatshields? waht about passenger foot heat? if anyone knows the best to get for this and where please let me know.

I have tried a few different brands of slip-ons, Screamin Eagle, Python, and a no-name Ebay brand. If it's just the sound you're looking for, the Screamin Eagle sounded the best and had the best finish. The Pythons were louder, but didn't have a deep enough tone for me. Cheap pipe...sounds like a cheap pipe.

I kinda figured cheap price would be cheap exhaust.

My advise would be check out CycleShack slip-ons. They sound GREAT, loud but not offensive. The hard part was getting the old mufflers off. I have not had these long (2 weeks) but last night I pulled up to a light, a local cop in the next lane looked over and said "nice bike", I guess thats a recommendation.
I have the turnout version and really like the look.

I know a lot of guys will disagree with me but if want to cheap just knock a couple of holes in the baffle plate. It will sound louder and IMO still good. I've done many of times.

I have a Deuce - same exhaust as yours - with D and D slip ons. No heat shields. Heat is a problem, as is the wife's boots melting on the pipes. That's more likely a problem with using a slip on rather than 2:1 that runs below the peg. Were I to do it again, I'd find slip ons with heat shields.

Slips ons I'd say "Rush".
The 2 1/4" is kinda loud to me though.

I just put Rush 2 inch slip-ons on my '04 FXST tonight. They are tough as F&#@. I can't believe how good they sound. I'm not sure if they are too loud or not but right now I really don't care. They sound that good. The good thing about Rush is you can always change the baffle size.
Congrats on the Fat Boy. I know you'll love it.
