Default Saddlebags AGAIN

Here is my current set up:
2007 Night Train w/ridged slide plates and sissy bar, everything else stock.

This is where I'd like to go: detachable side plates w/saddlebags.

Question: I am looking at part # 90119-00C and need to know if I can use these bags with the detachables? Can I use the bags if I take the side plates off? How hard is it to reconfigure?

The sissy bar is for the o'lady and she don't ride much. The saddlebags are for me as I ride to work every day.

I know this subject has been beat to death but remember I am stationed on Okinawa and I can't run down to the dealer and ask a crapload of questions. Thanks in advance for all the help.

Default RE: Saddlebags AGAIN

I don't know if you're only looking for HD bags, but you should check these out. www.leatherpros.com I have the plain 3200 series and I'm very happy with them. They are good quality and are easily detachable. They have two handles that lock the bags to the bike and they are solidly on there. They don't touch the bike any where else and they aren't moving at all. WhenIreceived mine there were bolts included to use if you had detachable sideplates.I leave my bags on all the time, but they comeoff in a few seconds.www.bossbags.com is also an option, they are similar in style and are also detachable. They use a slightly different method of attaching the bags but are supposed to be solid. I believe the owners of the two companies are related and they are located in the same city.

Good luck and I hope this helps.
