Default Fatboy Bags Weird Bracket..

Going to check out a 06 Fatboy tomorrow. The owner installed HD Fatboy bags on the bike. He said they are quick disconnect. I was looking that pics in the ad and was wondering what this bracket was? I looking up installations of the bags and do not see this bracket in any of the installs. Curious

andy help owuld be great.

I searched the HD online store and found their Fatboy saddlebags but they were slightly different than the ones in your picture. I did notice that the portion of the bracket you have identified is not part of the original saddlebags. I could also not find any saddlebag quick detach bracket similar to the one you have pictured.

Nonetheless, the bracket you have circled is the lower support arm to the saddlebag quick detach bracket on the back of the saddlebag. It will keep the saddlebags from moving due to vibration and falling off.

Seems to be a bracket associated w/ the saddlebag quick-docking mount.

Yup , it's an aftermarket support bracket , to help the bags from vibrating and possibly breaking the mounting bolts .

First time I took off my saddlebags (Heritage), I didn't even SEE that support arm. Yanked, yanked, dammit.

I have a 2018 lowrider with harley-davidson saddlebags. They came with a lower support arm that looks a lot like the one you have. It stabilizes the bottom of the bags.
