Default Saddlebag Guards

Thinking about adding the Springer P/N 49258-00A guards to my Deluxe but having a hard time finding them. I know HD stopped making them awhile ago and some of the aftermarket ones are hit and miss.

Anyone that has done this recently, who did you use and how did they work out?

Thanks-

I picked up a set at a swap meet but haven't mounted them yet. The springer set is different from the set they offered for the Heritage. The Heritage set is shaped differently in order to clear the stacked (over/under) mufflers. Both should work on your Deluxe. I have noticed The OEM set is a much heavier (thicker) tubing than the aftermarket ones available. Good luck on your search.

My s/o has tried two different types for her deluxe but the exhaust interfered with both. We are pulling our hair out for a solution short of a new exhaust system.

Thanks Bob, I saw that too and the reason I want the Springer. They are a little more round than the Heritage. I’ll keep looking...

I've already been through the search for saddlebag guards for the Deluxe--including installing OE guards and then yanking them back off due to their unappealing square shape and their not protecting my fishtails. Check out this post for details of what ended up working for me: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...l#post18376130

I put the HD Heritage guards on my 19 so I could mount two additional speakers, but like the looks. Here's with and without HD detachable saddlebags.

Do you have the part number for these guards?
