Default Suggestions? Apes for my 2016 Softail Slim S

I just made the switch from a dyna to a softail. I had a 2013 wide glide with 16" apes and loved the way they looked and felt. I just bought a 2016 softail slim s and its got 12" apes on it which are a bit too short for me. I've been browsing these forums to get a better idea of what I want and I'm torn between the Carlini gangster apes at 1.25" diameter with either 14" or 16" of rise or the LA choppers hefty twin peaks at 16" rise. I was originally going to get 1.5" bars but since my bike already has 1.25" risers I figured I'd save a few bucks and stick with 1.25" bars.

Now, I love the way the gangster apes look, I just don't love the hefty price tag. Only problem is, I'm having trouble finding many pics of other style bars mounted on a softail.

If anyone can share more pics of their softails (slim or others) with 14" to 16" apes with the brand and style of apes included that would be awesome. Also, if anyone can find a pic of a softail with the LA choppers twin peaks hefty apes on it, I've been searching for hours and no luck.

I'll attach a pic of my bike as it currently sits for reference.

Congrats on your new bike! I picked up a ‘16 Slim S in June and love it.

I’m having the Wild 1 Outlaw’z Chubby Apes installed this week and will have the bike back on Saturday. I did see them on the bike before they were pulled of to get powder coated (I wanted them gloss black to match the forks) and I really liked the way they flowed in line with the forks. The wiring is also internal, so the look is very clean.

The caveat is that I’ll have a 2” riser and 10” bars since I’m 5’8”, but I can post a picture this weekend if you are interested in seeing the look.

Opposing view, the Slim is a Bobber and apes look silly on it. Just my $.02

Years ago when I put apes on my Springer, I got mine from Wild One and I've been totally happy ever since.

There are 2 schools of thought when it comes to handlebars; those who appreciate apes and whomever the eff. Good luck with your choices !

I bought a set of China knock off gangster apes for my 2005 Heritage for 89 bucks off of Amazon and they are good quality. Carlini has shipped all their mfg offshore so I wasn't paying $400 for them.

After much deliberation, I really love the 1.5" diameter bars and am looking to go with this bar and riser setup:

https://www.denniskirk.com/la-choppe...rd/5902997.sku

https://www.jpcycles.com/product/633...buffalo-risers

I just wish i could find a pic of them installed on a softail but I haven't had any luck.
