Hey poor boy. I'm trying to get my hands on an 08' aniv. Fatboy too. I have tried to set up a deal here in San Antonio, but they said they'd call me when they come in.
Do you know anything about the distribution of them? How long did it take for them to get you one?

Hey pgh,
Mine had literally just arrived at the dealership a few hours before I got there (mid-week). They didn't even have all the corresponding paperwork from the Motor Company yet so they were being kept in the back while they waited for the papers. My salesman just happened to mention the three (different) anniversary models that were out back. I was sitting there trying to save money and interest rate by doing a deal on an 07.
The salesman walked me back to take a peak, and it was love at first sight. Budget and common sense went out the window. All three of their initial allotment of anniversary bikes are sold and gone. Each dealer is on a seperate allotment based on their annual sales and commitment to sell (in the business they call that a dealer's floorplan).
Ask your dealer if they have already "had" some in (and are now gone). My dealer said they won't get any more until September, when the Motor Company mixes some more copper paint again. The anniversary bikes aren't on their own assembly line anywhere.
Only the Anniversary bikes are serialized on a placard (placed on the console). Everyone else has to try and figure out their "birthday" based on the VIN number. There is a sequence number built into the VIN of every motor vehicle built. On cars it is easier to figure out from the VIN the actual model count.
BEST of luck getting YOUR anniversary FB. Don't be shy, I'd call every dealer within a two-day drive to hunt one down. I am excited for you.
Cheers!

I appreciate the insight.
I was gonna go w/the 07', but didn't like the whole fork issue on the Fatboys. All the paper work is set up. He said that everythings' in order and he'll call me when they get the invoices for the 08s'. He said that that'll be late August, early Sept.
From what you said & he did adds up. I was just wondering if he was giving methe run-around.
Thanks!

I'm gettin' a little excited now. I called around to a few dealers, and they all have said they're looking to get them the 1st week of September.
I've gotten one price so far, but am waiting to hear back on another.I see the one in the pic has the rider's kit. I'm trying to get the same.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get yours for?
