The stock pipes sound about like a UPS truck until you really get on it and then it sounds decent but unimpressive. The first week I had my bike, I pulled the mufflers off and put some little drag pipe baffles inside the stock header pipes. That was how I ran my exhaust for over two years. Sounded great and performed just fine. Of course my Thunderheader now performs even better.
