257 miles on the new set up. Im happy, definitely notice a difference (it's not a hot rod).... Hahaha
My Wrench set the RPM @5250

Thus it bounces off the rev limiter real quick now in first gear. Id turn up the Wick but let's face it, basically stock 88 TC ain't gonna make more pah at 6,000 rpm. Plus it would be kinda foolish to void the year long warranty he gives on parts /labor.

Go get yerself a mid 80's VF500 Interceptor and smile like you do when you race go carts at the amusement park. Revs to 12k RPM, about 70 hp (not much torque), weighs about 450 lbs. It'll cure your rev happy wrist and make you giggle like your first time on a go-cart.

Find the twistiest road you can.

Been there, bought a CBR929RR off the show room floor back 2001, weighed less than the 600.

That is the fastest bike I ever rode

Does he say why...???

5250 rpm is where the torque and horsepower curves cross on any dyno graph... torque goes down while HP stays above torque from that point on .. sometimes HP goes up a bit, flattens out, or sometimes drops a bit.... but stays higher than torque after 5250 rpm... just seems silly to cut it there...

Even the old HD stage I download tunes brought it up to 6200 rpms ......

I'm curious about his rationale....

Yes, said it was not making anymore power after 5,000.

I raised it up to 5,900 & am happier shifting now at 5,500.

Thanks for the reply...

I've never heard of cutting off the rpms just after peak power... just seems silly really... on my old 103" with SE255 cams, I would have been redlined just under 5K if I followed that theory...

While I usually shift well below 5250 rpms, when I'm playing, or in need of a rapid passing situation, I certainly get up near my redline of 6200..

Glad you adjusted it to where you feel more comfortable...

Enjoy....
