RE: New twist on heat
Just a thought but: the exhaust is on the right side.
Hence more heat on the right side.
I put those heat defectors on too and I think they work great.
....and they look better on the bike than I thought they would.
I thought they'd stick out and look goofy. But they look fine to me anyway.

If your bike is stock, it might be a good idea for you to consider aftermarket pipes and a stage 1 intake. The ECU download for stage 1 sets the fuel injection a little richer than stock. This and the pipes removing the hot exhause a little faster will make your bike run noticably cooler.

Mine varies a little. Since I switched to synthetic it runs cooler. Every once in a while it will be hot. But it goes away

I get heat on my right side and the oil tank is on the right. Even after an oil cooler and heat deflectors under the seat, I still feel it though maybe not as bad.

I'm running about 250 F in the oil tank after 2000 miles and a stage 1 remap with lower wind deflectorsand using Harley synthetic. It was not as noticable till I put the wind deflectors on due to windshield buffeting. Have to stick my right leg out to cool off my thigh in the wind, not whileriding in the city, but while riding in the Rockies!
