Default 21" front wheel on Deluxe question

I did a lot of searching and found some great info. One thing I didn't see was, how much higher will the bike sit from stock? The 21" will have a lower profile tire than stock, but guessing the O.D.'s of a 21" tire is not the same as a stock 16" tire.

Thanks for your help!

It raised mine about 2" and I didn't really notice a big difference. However, Springers are different than hydros. It will make the bike feel a little heavy at low speeds and feels super stable at highway speeds. Nothing bad, just since you're asking.

https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc

About 2.3" difference in diameters or raises the front end 1.15"...

Well, the Dunlop D402 MT90B16 Front Tire has an Overall Diameter: 25.30″ and the Dunlop D402 MH90-21 Front Tire has an Overall Diameter: 27.20″ so I'd expect your bike is going to sit about an inch taller if you use that tire (or one like it).

Lower your front end when you are done, you'll be glad you did. I went with a lower profile tire on the rear with the 120/70-21 on the front, then lowered the front end 2" with a Progressive drop in kit and it feels perfect there.

So, do you have to lower the front end? I was hoping to leaving the suspension the same if possible. Dang thing rides rough enough as it is.

No, you don't HAVE to lower it, but lowering with the larger wheel will put you back at stock height and ride.

Here's the bike right after the wheel install, before I lowered the front end and put new bars on. Notice the angle of the pipes and frame

Here's the bike after lowering the front 2" and the bar install

You can see the line of the lower frame and pipes how it more closely parallels the ground. I don't notice the front end riding any rougher since the stock setup is not that great to begin with....
