91 fatboy voltage issue?
Over all problem.
When bring rpms up and holding say 1000rpm. Engine shuts off, back fires....
Now.... the story..... went for a ride about 2 years ago. Parked .used thumb switch to turn off engine. Forget to use tank switch. Went to bar. Came back. Battery is dead. Had enough to make clicky noise on starter. Roll /pop start engine. Fired up . Warmed up. Make around the block dies..... towed home.
Charge battery. Warm up engine. Idles nicely. Bring up rpms hold for about a min. Dies... my dad tinkered with it for a bit. Said he fixed it. Rode it around the neighborhood..... no issues... a year later.... battery over charge and leaking... replace battery and clean up mess.... do long time sit start up procedure of allowing oil to return to tank before starting.... fires up like it's ready to go. But after warming up.... dies again.... pretty consistent. Did three times in a row. Watched the head light turn of at the same time the engine died then the backfire then the light comes back on. Almost like a momentary lapse in power. Any ideas.... would like a check list of things to look for when I go to work on it thus weekend. Tried to post video but phones being weird.
