Default Bike Lifts

I'm looking to pick up a bike lift later today - I saw the Larin 1500lb lift on sale for $50 and I figured I'd pick it up. Then I read some reviews and it they made it seem like junk as compared to the Sears Craftsman lift for about the same price - the problem there is that about half of the people who own the craftsman think it's junk because it breaks down and the other half love it. Apparently Sears doesn't make any replacement parts for the lift if it should break?

If anyone owns the Larin - Sears - or any other lift and you can give me a heads up on what you think it would help me out a bit. Thanks,

Ed

I have the Sears and it is great. I lift my fatboy and my dirtbikes with it and no problems. Well worth the money in my opinion.

There are a lot of threads about this topic. This is the one I have - it is pricey, but it is the best out there, IMHO.

Well, it's like this.
You get what you pay for.
For $50, I went with Larin. It is a decent lift and I do more wrenchin' than the average person probably. No problems, and I bought mine in 1998 at Sams.

Sure it's made in China, but so is mostly everything else < $200.00.

Some will replace the bolts with grade 8, and that's a good idea, but where do those replacement bolts come from? China?

I had my concerns about the Sears lift because of the comments as well.

I got this one from Harbor Freight. $69. and you can replace every piece of it if anything breaks. They even give you a parts list with all the part numbers. Been using it on my Fat Boy without issue. Quick delivery, easy to put together, and works as expected.

We've got the red Sears Craftsman, and haven't had any trouble with it at all.

Thanks - I'll probably go with theLarin. A lot of people had issues with the Craftsman lift leaking oil - I haven't heard that about the Larin. I did hear it's abitch to lower the bike though- any truth to that?

By the way - that rear fender onyour fatboy kicks ***. Where'd you get it? Great looking bike.

By the way - In case you ever have an oil leak with the craftsman - this guy seems like he found a good fix. Scroll down to the customer comments - SP's comment
