True Duals on a Deluxe
I'm looking a getting true duals for my bike, a 2012 Deluxe, I've been running V&Hs Bigshots for about 4 yrs now and I've always wanted true duals, I see plenty of you running Samsons and V&Hs true duals, I see some good prices on the Cobra brand, I've searched an looked on YouTube but cant seem to find any mounted on a softail. Is anyone on here tried them or currently running them, was wondering about the quality and do they have the full length heat shields so you don't get the gold tint where the rear section mounts? Since they are all pretty expensive I want to try and get something I'lll be happy with, Thanks

I don’t see how running duals would be any different than running the big shots I have now as they are separate pipes, I think as long as there is some kind of baffle to give some back pressure. I could be wrong as I’ve read several post about the loss of power and torque but got to wonder if it’s because they are running straight pipes no baffles.

You will lose power running true dual pipes. Most people do not seem to care as it looks cool. My buddy wanted TD's and I kept telling him that he would get better power with a good 2-1 but he wouldn't listen. The shop that did the work for him said the same considering all the work he had done to his engine. Well he bought those duals and ran them for a year then one day tells me he removed the duals and installed a 2-1 and couldn't be happier. He can feel the difference in power. He also has dyno charts to prove it. I asked him what changed his mind and he stated that it always bothered him knowing his bike was missing out on some power due to the true dual pipes.
