I like the look of that Purple. Not sure how legal it would be here in Oz but then again I have very little respect for most of our silly laws so that doesn't really matter Was that a nightmare to wire up?

DeanO,
If you order from the U.S., be careful. There are two different standard sizes depending on which state you are in.

Deano,

Yes the red reflector panel does have the Harley Davidson name in Italics in a modern type font which is fairly subtle. It is a nice frame and the red sets off the rest of the pinstriping on my cobalt fatty.

The size is the same as our issue plates as far as width but you do have about 5mm of silver on the top and bottom which is looks ok.

Just step the plate holes out a few sizes and the plate fastening "studs" slide straight in. I used the acorn nuts without the washers supplied as they would have overlapped the rolled edge of our plates. The finish of the chrome nuts against the plate surface looks quite neat.

Regards,

Did you stick that skull on over the original licence plate holder frame holes or does that bolt into the original 3 holes? If so , where did you get it from? Also was it much of a drama to wire up that side mount licence plate holders brake light... or is it just a tail light?

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you but sometimes I let this thing set for a few days before I get back on line, But YES I love my side mount License bracket, and I like the light above plate so gives you extra running light and brake light also some states you most have a lighted license plate, but look in Dennis Kirk or J&P catalog, the Kuryakyn is a much better piece I think also some of the others are $300.00 and mine was $139.95, but I wanted it done right so let HARLEY DEALER install it for me and I swear you do not see any wires at all!! And it really sets of the look of bike for little cash, and the SKULL is not GLUED to fender, it has 3 bolts with 3 nuts and it is a mother to get nuts tight but it can be done, I bought it at HARLEY and it was the only one they had, the rest wear clovers, maltese cross's, and other things, but I have had a lot of people ask me about it but they can not find one, so you might check other catalogs or see if HARLEY could order you one, all I can say is you will like theplate moved to the side, and hope you find the SKULL!! GOOD LUCK! PURPLE HAZE.

Hey Purple,

Yeah I just ordered one of these They look great and are a LOT cheaper than a lot of others I have seen that don't look any better. Hey where can I get a cool skull to block off the standard holes like the one you have?

I like my Kuryakyn because it gives extra bling and safety of a extra running light with daytime running lights and extra brake light also, you can never be to careful especialy in heavy traffic, I found this light in the J&P CATALOG at $139.95 U.S., also I saw other license plate frame mounts for 2 to 3 times of what I paid for mine, it has 36 L.E.D. red lights, and on bottom row 10 Blue L.E.D. lights, so to me it looks cool at night and day too!! PURPLE HAZE.

Where are the blue LED's you talk about?? Can't see them in the photo. Hey I bought a new Genuine HD LED tail light which I reckon would suit your bike big time. I will include a pic.

THANK YOU DMAC1968 for the comps. but I found the skull at HARLEY DEALER in BEDFORD TEXAS, it was with all there chrome bolt on toys, they had a CLOVER, PAIR OF DICE, and some other lame stuff, but the skull was last thing on rack! So I liked it and bought it and this was allmost 2 years ago, I have had a lot of people ask about it, and it is not glued on!! Very Tricky to install, it had 3 screws and 3 nuts, you seem like a good dude and next time I go and I will look for one and if I find one I will buy it and mail it to you, and if you can pay for the shipping and price of skull, I think it was $15 or $20 bucks, but I will send you receipt. PURPLE HAZE.
