Default 07 Fatboy wheel options... any suggestions?

G'day all,

Am about to buy a set of wheels for my 07 fatboy. Was after some suggestions (preferably with photos of the same wheels already on an 07 fatboy).

If I am not mistaken, our bike came out with 17" wheels but you can put 18" with lower profile tires? Can you go bigger than that again?

Anyway, any suggestions as to what you all think might suit would be greatly appreciated.

DeanO,

I too would like to hear some answers to your questions. I am getting ready to upgrade my front wheel. Anyone have any thoughts about the 18 versus the 19 inch front?

Brent.

DeanO I don't have an answer, but I like the way it looks beter with a larger wheel with lower profile tires too. It is my understanding that on my older fatboy can put up to a 21" wheel on the front eithout changing anything. I have not tried this yet, but am seriously considering it.

How are you going to fit the 200 rear on? You need the fat tire kit for that...

I am probably no good to you for used wheels because I am in Australia but I think I noticed a few sets for sale cheap on ebay.

Yeah well that's the other thing I wanna know and have a look at.... like do you put 2 x 18's or 1 x 18" rear and 1 x 21" front or 2 x 19"'s etc etc ?? Only way to really tell is see one and sometimes photos don't even give you a good idea but I most likely going to go for something with with like a dozen or so straight "spokes" in a nice forged , chromed wheels. I think something simple like that might look best for the look I am going for.

Then again I saw this fatboy at a show in Liverpool (Australia) a couple of months ago and think that this traditional spoked wheel looks great... had I not seen it in person I don't think I would have liked a spoked wheel but after seeing it I thought it was one of the nicest bikes I had ever seen. Pic below.

Having said that, does anybody recognise what kind of bars these are on the bike below as I LOVE them and wanna flick my drag bars for a set just like in the pic.

Check out your 07 fatty w/16", 18", 19" front. The front tire gets leaner the taller your wheel gets (sidewall and also the width).
Looks like when you go w/ the 19", 120s are the widest tire you can get.

I think you need to do some mods to the fender mount in order to geta 21" on. Otherwise 19"goes right on...

DeanO,

The bars on that bike are some kind of beach bar. Take a look a the Wild One site as they have beach bars for softails.

I am probably going with the Renegade nightmare wheels on my Fatty. Going to wait til the tires go bald then get 18's. Getting the Carlini slickback bars on while I wait. Looks like Riggidyraw and I will be the only 2 with those bars.......for now.
