Default Anyone have 1/4 mile times for 07 Soft Tails

I tried a search found nada. Wounderwhat the 07's run the 1/4 mile in vs the older ones. Any real time numbers?

They seem close to the VRODS on paper...

I know most dont race there bikes, but hope there might be a few, or a site that has some stats.

Just woundering as I have seen some tricked out H-D's and wounder what the stock Soft Tails run.

You've got to be kidding me. I'm sure I could beat a 1972 Ford Pinto but that's about it.

If I had to guess I'd say mid-high 14's (stock).

One of the reasons I wounder is I was told the 6 speed tranny gears were matched to the 96(B) power curve, so the full throttle gear changes should go well and give better numbers than the older 88 5 speed. But the 96B does not seem that much better on paper for power, so I was thinking maybe its faster.

Very little info it seems on 1/4 mile times. Basic cars still rate 1/4 mile times from 4 cyl Ford Fusion carsto 10 cyl Dodge SRT trucks. Going fast is not the issue for me, its the old time vs new in stock form.

I've looked for this info too. The Motorcycle Consumer News has these specs, but I have yet to see them publish numbers for the 07 models.. According to their 05/06 Performace reports, the stock 06 FXSTD (with a good rider I am sure) does the quarter in 13.13 / 98.99 mph. Not to shabby.

Check them out at http://www.mcnews.com/mcn/technical.asp

I am going to take my FXSTC over to a local drag strip and get a time one of these days.. For $20 I can get 3 timed runs on it...

I don't know about the newer model Softails, but a good friend of mine in Tulsa has a 'Stage 1' EFI 2004 FatBoy, and runs it at the track from time to time.

He is a good, experienced rider, but not a professional "drag racer" by any means. Known the guy a long time, and don't have any reason to doubt his word as he isn't one of these people that are looking for bragging rights.

Anyway, he told me that his FatBoy does the timed quarter mile in between 13.4 to 13.7 seconds, with him riding and not really beating the bike.

A Deuce or Standard is what, about 65 pounds lighter, so I would image with all things being equal they would be slightly quicker.

i would think that a mid to low 13 sec. run sound about right. also for every 10 pound you can get rid of, you should pick up a tenth of a second. so it possible a deuce or a standard couls run in the 12 's.

100 lbs for a 10th of a second, thats how it goes I think.
