I have almost enough miles on these tires to almost justify new tires and I want white walls. Can anyone give me a ball park guesstimate on what that would cost and which brand to get?

Like you want to do same. Have black 2006 Heritage, bought new last October and still only 3000 miles on the clock. Will change to white walls when tread is worn but not sure how many miles untill current ones need changing -How long did your current tyres last?
If you love the "old" look, then white walls are a must!!...Therre are lots on coimments if you search the treads, but IMO: Metzler's are GREAT wet and dryriding tires... one of the best compounds for an rider to keep the rubber STUCK to the asphalt... Avon is the other....Only con to this great tire is it's longevity..... Lasts about 75% as much as a Dunlop I'm told, but who knows? I only have 3800 miles on mine tand they look new.......but then again, I'm an "easy" rider. Highertire pressuresare also a necessity with Metz', Avon, Pirelli and Conti's as their construction is Radial, not Biased... Much better "Feel" of the cornering and damp road conditions....
You could ride through a Monsoon with the Metz's will still grip.... Not like Dunlops...The staight line tracking is much better than the original Dunlops. Road grooves don't bother them and the handling in turns is night and day.
If i have to clock up that number of miles before changing it wont be for a few years yet! Guessi'll have to do more miles (notvery pleasantin the UK at the moment) paint them white with tipex, or sod the cost and do it anyway!!!
Metzlers wide whites, $565.00 installed. I noticed the difference in the handling and performance right from the get go. Mitcht is on the money as far as the wear and inflation info goes...
