True! I was quoted $280.00 for 5K service by one dealer, another quoted $208.00. This is for syn in all holes! Also was a hour difference in doing the work!!???

The money isnt nearly as important as knowing the work is actually getting done, I bet 1/2 the dealers dont follow the checkup checklist anyways, all they are doing is changing oil and getting you outta there. Grab a manual and DIY, you save cash, its easy and you know the work is getting done.

I agree with Unibomber, DIY and have the peace of mind knowing that the work is being done. Plus there's a sense of well being knowing that the more work you do on your own bike, the more you are learning and the better equipped you'll be to minimize down time for repairs.

The "stealer" where I bought my bike wants $430.....They're insane. Glad I do my own work.
