RE: how many use windshields
I have a couple of shields but hardley ever use them, I have a windvest and use it almost exclusively when I have to use a shield. I only have the shields on when riding distances (100 miles plus), around town thier off, I like the feel of the wind in my face, with a good pair of glasses or goggles and you realy dont need the shield on. I think my bike looks better with no shield on

I had the stealer install a detachable a few days after I got mine, and have been using it most of the time. I prefer the look without, but it sure helps keep the bugs off the mug! I forgot how bad it can get, eating bugs at 50+ MPH! I'm heading out for a ride this morning and will be taking it off, and probably will do so for most of my short trips. Anything long or on the freeways much will demand the shield - far too many rocks, tire treads, sand, gravel, etc. not to have some modicum of protection.
Happy Independence Day everyone!

RE: how many use windshields
When I bought my Fatboy, it came with a quick detach windshield, but I rode without it for the first several weeks. I like the look better without it. I put it on the first morning I rode when it was somewhat cool and I needed a jacket. That was the first time I'd ever ridden with a windshield - huge difference! Since then, I've taken it off to install different risers, but that's it. I enjoy the ride so much more with the windshield.

Detachable everything is what I like. Normally my bike pretty much runs with the detachable sissy bar on it,
other than the wife riding with me or a very long trip.....more than 500 miles the windshield stays off.
Oh unless it is grass hopper season, or very cool out. then I use it always!
