Busas, like Harley's, have an incrediblecult following.
This is very true.. one of the things I loved about that bike~ Every April, for the last three years, we've been meeting up at Deal's Gap for the Annual Busa Bash~ This last one, one of the guys went down when he hit the paint on the road after a good rain~ This rider is a Major in the USMC~ He wasn't hurt bad.. not as bad as his bike anyhow... but his wife had him go to the local hospital just to be sure~ He was probably only gone about three hours~ In that time about 15 of us attacked his bike and with the spare parts we all had between us, had his bike looking like new again before he got back~ When he seen what had happened.. I chit you not.. I swear I seen a tear drop from this man's eye!Nobody asked for anything in return~ The camaraderie in the Hayabusa Owners Group (yup, they are also known as H.O.G.) is really something~ The majority are really good people... with a few squid kids thrown in the mix here and there~

Would I like to have a sport bike? Yea.....its it likely?? NO.

I had a Ninja 600 BITD (1988..bought it new). A few weeks ago we were on a poker run, with one of the stops being at a multi brand dealer. Strolled around the show room and sat on a few different sport bikes.

Maybe it is old age creeping up on me. Or maybe, I have gotten used to the comfort of a tour bike. Maybe it is the trend of the sport bike manufacturers to design bikes that offer ergonomics that are closer to "race" bikes, than those ergonomics were when I owned my sport bike. Most likely, it is a combination of the three, but I tell ya this...one of those bikes, I swear my butt was higher than the clip ons were. Just SITTING on it, I felt like I could fall forward over the headlight.

If I were to buy a more sporting ride, it would likely be the Yammi FJR-1300 sport tourer.

what no one who would get the NINJA 1400? with all the power these bikes have. its down to the riders skills.
Yes I was waiting for the ZX14, but when it came out I was dissapointed , it didn't say "buy me" (I also owned the original ZX11).I gotmy 07 Fat Boy instead.

From all the responses I can tell we all are power junkies.A coupleof my friendsone at65and another at 80 years old ride Vmax!!

I hope to add a Ducati 1098S at some point in the future. Have always loved the sound and looks of Ducatis, but wouldn't want to unload the Deluxe to get one.

no. i have had them and don't care for them much. i would rather build a big inch sportster. a 883 is still probably cheaper to build , and faster from light to light around town then a rice burner. my $0.02

My sport bike is a 1988 Honda NT 650 (aka Hawk GT) - that has a CBR600 F2 front end and a Fox racing shock. Great handling, low end torque, but a little short on the top end.

I believe that he was refering to the stop light to stop light wars, not an all out ***** to the wall top speed contest.
My pick for that kind of bike would be a Buell, maybe with a turbo on it for a little more kick.
