The Harley P/N is 54298-11. Boardtracker didn't show that number, so it
might not be available anymore. I went back & read my 2013 P&A Catalog
about this "Chopped fender luggage rack - Blackline" and it does not indicate
what the load limit is. If I had to guess, they put a light load limit on the racks
for liability reasons....

Do you have the part number for the HD aero rack that the tabs were welded and made to fit the detachable sissy bar?

It’s been impossible for me to find the discontinued luggage rack mentioned above. If anybody knows where I could find one it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It mounts directly to the fender in two places and the total load capacity is only 10 lbs.
They're primarily for looks only IMO.

much appreciated!

If anybody has a lead for the OEM luggage rack for a 2013 slim I’d be very interested. Haven’t been able to find one anywhere.

Thanks again!

You might try some of the Facebook groups - that is how I sold that rack - someone wanted it.
I personally didn't like it, but to each their own....

Thanks again.

I'm not a big fan of the rack either, but on a long trip I would like something I can put on the bike to add an extra bag on the other side of the sissy bar. I wouldn't have it on the bike permanently, just for long trips. I tried just a big bag on the passenger pillion but it got in the way of me stretching out on long rides, felt boxed in. So I now use a smaller bag on the pillion and I'm looking to make up for the lost space by having a second bag off the back of the sissy bar on a luggage rack. I've even considered a tour pack set up, but they make absolutely nothing for the 2013 slim. Your idea welding the rack to the sissy bar is the best I've seen so far to help with my problem.

So if you want something "custom made", then you might check out "The Forge".

I used this version originally, but I found it took longer than I liked to remove, so that's when
I did the welded-on tabs...

Here's a really old picture with it installed
