Cleaning FatBoy Wheels-18’ and up models

Funny you mentioned power coating the wheels, was just entertaining that possibility last night. Seen a few done and they do look great. Definitely a nice winter project, I have a guy that did my Yamaha Stryker wheels so I will check him out and see what we can come up with.
Go to powder365.com and check out Super Durable clear starlight, white glacier full gloss, or even maple bronze metallic for something cool but different. They could even do a contrasting inset color.

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to warn anyone else thats thinking of using the spray on hose off crap to not use it. I used mothers aluminum wheel cleaner spray "safe for coated wheels" and i got similar if not worse results as MAC-427. Ive started to use the mothers wheel polish and its working but its still uneven.

Well, to revive an old.thread, here's my 0.02c worth.
The wheels were off so I thought why not??
Used a cloth wheel with metal polish, which took off the imperfections and machining marks, then progressed to Mothers Powerball mini with mother's alloy polish.
All up, about an hour's work to go from one to the other, both wheels both sides. Now just need to wash them, and give them a final coat of protection wax.
I might put them back on, it's made such a difference!!!

Very impressed. Quite good quality alloy, there was no real OEM coating to speak of. May well have been but I think it's a very thin coat.
Do I refit them?
