Default Mustang or Sundowner

Tried the search but couldn't find much, I would like to know which is the best for the Heritage Softail Classic, a Mustang seat or the Sundowner by Harley. I have the 07 Heritage and thought the stock isn't to bad, but my passenger does't like it at all. Just can't decide if I want to get the Sundowner or the Mustang seat. Any help and advise would be great apprciated, thanks!!

Mate this topic was discussed recently but FWIW i had a sundowner seat on my 04' heritage and really liked it.

The sundowner is obviously a one piece seat andmost mustang seats will be 2 piece so you can cruise around with a solo seat if you wish.Solo seat on a heritage looks unreal. From memory i think the sundowner seat sits you IN the seat a fair bit and has pretty good lower back support. The mustang seat (at least my mates one) sits you ON the seat so depends what you like.Try and sit on both if you can to see which one suits you better. Some will sit you further back and some further forward so depends how tall you are as well.

Quite a few dudes on here have the mustang seats so they can give you there impressions on those.

Now that i have totally confused you good luck with your decision.Keep us posted.

I had both on my Fatboy at one time or another. Preferred the Sundowner.

They are both good.
The mustang is extremely heavy but built like a brick you know what. And too big IMO.

Check out ultimate big boy. They had a tent at Bike Week and IMO they were very impressive.
They will customize as well. Probably the most expensive.

Just tried a Sundowner on my bike today. Ordered from Dealer last week.

I'm 6'2, 200lbs

Pros: The seat LOOKS great on the bike. A little lower so it gives you the feeling of sitting down in the bike. Passenger pillion looks a bit wider. Bucket seat came up to top of my belt so that would help on a long ride.

Cons: Less foam. I have a boney ****, so I'm told, and there wasn't much foam where I needed it to be comfortable. It sat me down about 2-3 inches but also moved me forward about 2 inches. With the Sundowner my ankles now rest on the engine guard highway pegs (Mustache Engine Guards w/integrated pegs on top).

The bad news is it won't work for me. The good news is the Dealer let me return it since I had just purchased it.

Maybe if I had a little more meat on the bones it would have been perfect for me. It really is an awesome looking seat on the bike. I just ordered the firehousecustoms rider backrest so we'll see how that works out.

I just installed this ONE piece Mustang seat on my Standard.

I went for a little 80 mile putt in 103 degree temps. Seat gets A plus from me.
No pics yet..but soon.
