2015 Heritage HD Tank Emblems Issue
Today I went into my garage and noticed both HD gas tank emblems laying on the floor. I called my dealer and he said this isn't an uncommon problem and that they usually come off when riding. Its summer and I am sure the temperature inside the garage affected the glue somehow. He then told me that replacement emblems are about $100.00 a piece. Unbelievable! I was able to press them both back on and they seem good as the glue was still very adhesive. He suggested reapplying them with 3M double sided automotive trim tape. He said they will never come off again. I feel if this is a known issue with the adhesive that HD should make good on replacing them. Anyone else have this issue? I tried to take them off but they won't budge to use the tape. If they come off again I will reapply them with the tape. So beware! If they come off on the road and are damaged it will be $100.00 a piece unless the bike is still under warranty.

I understand that but if there is a known issue with the adhesive on these emblems they should be making good on it!! I just had an entire rear hatch replaced on my 2008 Toyota Highlander with 125.000 miles on it that was purchased in 2007. One day it didn't close properly and after that it did but about 2 weeks later I received a letter from Toyota about possible issues with the hatch. I took it in, they examined it and they replaced the entire rear hatch no questions asked. Now that's a company that stands behind their products. Its a known issue that is my issue with HD!

You can remove them by slipping some heavy fishing line between the tank and emblem and use a sawing action as you go. Works best when the adhesive is hot. Pick up some 190 at your local automotive paint store and use it to remove the remaining adhesive from the tank and emblems. 190 will not harm the paint. Then reapply with the automotive tape..
