Wild turkey on the rack (and shotgun between the handlebar and windshield)

Lots of great ideas, guys... well I might dismiss the turkey one. :-)

I had looked at the day bag, but it seemed too big and it needed the backrest that I don't have. I was at a Harley dealer last weekend and he had one, but nothing to try it on, so I passed on that one, at least for now.

After sleeping on it, I'm giving a bag I had just bought a second try.

Here is the bag:

I'm got a piece of plastic to attach to the bottom of the bag for rigidity, then I'm going to cable tie the front of the bag to the front of the bar with the front loops. Next I'll use one of the straps that came with the bag to weave through the rack from the middle rings on both sides.

I like the looks better as it is flatter, but who knows, the day bag might be revisited.

Thanks again for all the suggestions and links.

This is a great place to run ideas by people.

Tom

I've got this bag. It's an Iron Horse Roll bag. It has a very wide velcro strap across the bottom and an adjustable strap on the back. You can hook it to a sissy bar or just use the velcro on the bottom and loop it around your luggage rack. Ive done both. Also, mine does not have the studs. It fits an incredible amount of stuff in it....easily a weekend's worth. I don't have pics on my bike, but it looks awesome. Mine is 4 years old and it's weathered/worn nicely. It was recommended to me by another forum member.

Thanks, Queen, I'll take a look if mine doesn't work out.

Look at Biker's Friend T-bags, they come in a number of sizes, you may find that fits:

There are allot of options out there, it just depends on how you want it to work...
With that said, i went from an Ultra to a deluxe and I like to take a couple of trips every year.
I looked at allot of products, nothing that worked good (without a possibility of damaging paint that is).
I ended up contacting RICKRAK ( https://www.rickrak.com/ ), they did not offer a specific rack for my bike.
So they sent me out extra parts and told me if I could not get to work return it (undamaged of course).
I had to make a couple changes for it to fit.
Quick easy on and off & you can lock the rack down if you want.
Then I chose a dry bag to mount to it (so everything would stay dry).
It was tested on the trip to my fathers this summer, worked like a charm.

I also have a cooler I bring with me that sets on the passenger seat.
That's a stock Deluxe rack it is mounted to.

I have seen these before, might be a great option at some point, but looking for something smaller.

I didn't get a chance to finish my installation of my Iron Rider bag, maybe today if things go well.

GRWHD, that looks like a great setup. I'm not really traveling on this bike, so it would be overkill, but my next one ( next year or maybe sooner) and that might come in handy.

Thanks,

Tom

I put the Nelson Rigg CTB-250 on mine using black tie wraps. It seem to work pretty good. Here are some pics.

Foley, that seems to work good for you. Would it be as good without the backrest... just curious.
