Go check out Matt Laidlaw's comparison of these two bikes in his videos. He lays it out very well.

I’ve watched Matt Laidlaws video. Excellent review.

I was just referring to when the Harley truck comes after the new 2019 models arrive next month.

Fitted with a windscreen, a rack and a rolling tour bag it was perfect for solo touring. It was also clearly the fastest and best handling bike of our group of around 20 bikes.
I lernt a new word today (looked it up too) "aplomb" (self-confidence or assurance, especially when in a demanding situation.)

I'll bet the thing deadnuts smooth @ 80 mph in 6th.
I want a fairing on my next scoot though. Wondering how an A/M fairing would be on an 18
I'd want that Viking tour pack, or the like. I've read on here the Harley one for the 18 isn't that great of quality.
They should drop the exh lower on those and add larger saddlebags. The 18's are smaller inside than mine

It’s perfect....this is my 4th Heritage and all were ridden 40,000 Miles are more. The Heritage is absolutely the perfect bike.

I'm over 22,000 since I bought mine in October. This is the best handling most powerful bike I have ever owned and I've had a few.

Did an 1,800 mile ride through the mountains of Tennessee and Kentucky last month. Bike handled the twistys and curves without an issue and I was pulling a camper. On my 05 Ultra, I was constantly having to down shift in the mountains pulling the camper, had none of those issues with this bike.

Yes, I am extremely happy with my 18, 114 Heritage.

Coming from a 17 Road King, I can tell you the new softails have a better suspension and give you more space for the legs compared to the Touring bikes. All in all, it is obvious that the frame concept of the Touring bikes is a bit dated nowadays. Harley did what they could to keep the Touring concept alive for a couple more years, but it can’t cope with the new Softail frames.

My Heritage Softail 114 Heritage with HD's Torque Cam and ECU reflash otherwise completely stock is definitely HD's new Sport Touring Motorcycle.

Best HD that I have ever had.

Thanks for all the input and information on the new Heritage. I’m definitely interested! Going to wait till the new models come out in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can get a good deal on a new 2018.

You should be dealing right now for the 2018. Do it before they are gone.
I I bought mine a month ago and they knocked off 2k.

Oh, I forgot to ask if the wheels on the new Heritages are tubeless? My 2013 Heritage had wire laced rims, but the tires were tubeless. Thanks
