Default Extreme Flow vs. Heavy Breather Air Cleaners

Making the final Harley Tax payment (don't seem to hear that phrase much any more) at the end of the week. Already have slip ons, will be changing the AC and doing a Stage I ECU download. Is there any advantage of one over the other except for style and $200 difference in cost? I may end up going as far as Stage II but not beyond that. Bike is an '18 Low Rider. Thanks!

No advantage at all, though the Heavy Breather tends to interfere with you legs.

One advantage of the heavy breather is that the crank case breather mist cannot oil soak the pleats in the air filter. There will always be a bit of oil on the air filter with the others. Maybe a minor point but it does irritate a lot of riders.

The HB always looks a little extreme to me, like it belongs on a drag bike or something. I have always preferred the round filters myself. I’ve had full Stage 1’s on 2 of my bikes, and one will be going on my ‘18 Deluxe soon. I have never had any issue with the round filters. The only thing I can say about them has been, if you are installing them as part of the OEM stage 1 kits, the A/C brackets do push the filters out from the bike a bit and against my knees. It’s never bugged me, but your mileage may vary!

I do have visions of being reincarnated as Andrew Hines. Or John Force. “We might not go far but dang, do we go fast.”

It's all preference. Neither is better for power over the other on a stock bike. You should vent your breathers to atmosphere, why put that **** back in the motor.... I prefer the heavy breather on looks. A friend of mine has a stage IV SE 110 kit and uses the heavy breather.. plenty of air...

Did you look at just getting a heavy breather K&N air filter to replace your stock air filter ? This is all I did .

It is all BS
No HD neeeeds any different air filter until they are pushing over 6000 RPM.
Next, the engineeers will tell you six bends equals a plug.
That is why raised ports exist.
So...why add one more bend?
It just silly

Well, I’m not a super freak when it comes to performance, i know I pay more for less but I’ve always stuck with OEM when it comes to anything that goes on or in the motor. It’s served me well over the years.
